This year’s Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials takes place next week, between 3 and 6 September 2015. This internationally-famous event takes place in Burghley Park in Stamford. Thursday and Friday are for the Dressage competition; Saturday is the exciting Cross Country day on Captain Mark Phillips’ fabulous course around the park; Sunday is the climax, with the Show Jumping determining the final results and the winner.
After the initial veterinary inspection, 74 horse and rider partnerships from 10 different countries will be starting this hugely challenging event.
Every day during Burghley Horse Trials you’ll also find amazing shopping opportunities with a wide range of top quality retailers from high-end country clothing, shotguns and equestrian gear to antiques and homeware. There are shopping pavilions and outdoor stalls for every interest and budget.
If you are visiting from afar, and you haven’t yet booked your hotel or other accommodation, then do so now! Up to 160,000 visitors in total are expected to attend the Trials and it is usual for every hotel room, B&B, pub and motel for miles around to be booked solid. That is why home-owners in Stamford are being encouraged this year to open as a pop-up B&B especially for the weekend.
Everything you could possibly need to know about the Burghley Horse Trials is on their website, including ticket prices, opening times and a complete timetable of the entire four days.
